          Pedestrian hit in Seventh Street accident

          OBSERVER Staff Report

          A Dunkirk resident was transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital Monday evening after being hit by a vehicle attempting to back out of a driveway on East Seventh Street, just west of South Main Street.

          According to the Dunkirk Police Department, around 7:45 p.m., Patrick Michalak, 46, of South Main Street was attempting to exit the residence of 637 S.

          Main St. by using a driveway located on East Seventh Street. Michalak struck a pedestrian on the sidewalk, who was identified as Shaunn Boyd, 33, of Deer Street.

          Police confirmed Boyd’s injuries were non-life threatening.

          The Dunkirk Fire Depart-ment and Alstar Ambulance also responded to the scene.

          Michalak was cited for having an uninspected motor vehicle.
